MAIN TASK:  MY MAGAZINE PROPOSAL                                                  Why?
Working title:

Just Pop
I came up with many titles for my magazine and asked individuals to choose which one was best for my target audience.
Genre:

Pop
Pop music is has risen in popularity within the years with many of the biggest artists today such as Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber are very well known across the world. Young artists look up to the artists as role model and inspire to be them.
Target Audience:

Demographic age group
Teenagers 13-17
Demographic gender
Females

Socio-economic category –C2, D, E

Psycho-graphic category – Mainstreamers

This is what most pop magazines target. E.g. ‘We love pop’ and ‘Top of the pops’ both show elements for the younger generation.
Price:

£3.99
From my research many magazines are priced from £2.99- £3.99. Therefore I have matched my competitor’s price.
Convergence:
Website – www.justpop.co.uk

Having a website will allow readers to find out contents online which may be much quicker. It will also boost the popularity of the magazine. This will have things that may not be featured in the magazine such as online polls, games, quizzes etc.
Feedback from primary research will act upon

Surveys
I will take upon what my respondents answered in the survey and will add it will influence the way I construct my magazine.
Colours I should use were considered and took that upon and used ‘bright’ colours.
The fact having celebrities also attracted people to purchase magazines as they can find their favorite artists.

Wanted my photos to look professional as main cover story in a numerous of magazine have high quality images within their double page spread about a particular artist.
Models:

Female model – Main cover story.
This is the main cover story which will be the same girl on the front cover. Therefore consumers will immediately know that the story line will be about her.
Props:

 Microphone
Next to the the bit about the article will be on her singing. Therefore I want the image to match that section.

Music Magazine Annotations

I have annotated 4 music magazine front covers. 2 of which are Pop which helped me figure out the conventions of a pop  music magazine to help me while constructing my magazine. I also annotated a    R 'n' B and hip hop magazine so I can compare the differences within each genre.
